county. peggy fox joins us live with more. >> reporter: well, lesli, that guilty verdict came down in the last hour, but they deliberated all day. is surgeon said that the brain is like an egg and if you shake it all day, you can not damage the yolk, however, another witness said that you do this and you do horrendous damage. >> noah had, um, noah had damage to his eyes. it was initially thought he might be completely blind. it appears he can see, all though not perfectly well. >> reporter: the doctor says that noah also suffered from seizures and the parents worry about brain damage. they blame their care giver. she took the stand telling the jury that she never shook him and he just went limp in his arms. >> this can happen. >> reporter: this witness says that it couldn't have been done. >> you can't shake a baby hard enough to do that. >> reporter: he believes that the bleeding in his brain and others is caused by an injury to the head when the baby is sweesed through the birth canal. >> that rotational causes the issues in brain, you don't get that kind of injury from what he i

offender registry is dead after being tasered by police in arlington. as peggy fox reports, it happened just after 8:00 last night at the pentagon metro station after an officer spotted a shoplifting suspect. >> reporter: right here on the platform at the pentagon city metro station, a struggle took place. an arlington police officer had spotted this man, 36-year-old, william randolph of dc, wanted in a larceny at a nearby pharmacy. >> when the officer approached the suspect, the suspect became combative. >> reporter: the officer called for help. >> while the suspect and the officer were alone, he was still fighting. the officer deployed his taser. it didn't appear to have an affect on the suspect. >> reporter: a second officer arrived and handcuffed the suspect. as standard procedures for tasered deployment, the officers called for medics. >> when medics arrived, they transported the suspect to the the hospital and he was pronounced dead. >> reporter: he was released from prison two years ago after being convicted of the sex offense and other crimes. they recovered items on him believe

in haiti's rubble. peggy fox shows us how search and rescue teams train for that kind of a mission. >> reporter: finding survivors under piles of concrete takes a delicate balance between heavy machinery and careful searching. >> once we get up to it, we can see if, in fact, we do have a victim. >> reporter: dc's search and rescue team practices these drills regularly. this concrete plant provides plenty of slabs to look through and drill under. >> when they're looking for possible victims, they start with a listening device. and with these headphones, they can hear even the tiniest of fingernail scratching. >> reporter: take a listen. they also use rotating cameras fitted on the end of extension poles. >> as i see a victim right there so i would notify the chief i can see a victim, a live victim. and then we would go and extricate that person. >> once they find somebody, then a rescue group comes in behind them to start digging. and that crew moves on to the next building. so they're always leapfrogging each other going from building to building to building. >> reporter: after all
